The new Discovery show, Doing da Vinci is kind of irking me.

Yeah, Leonardo is one of my all time favorite artist (I love his anatomical studies). Yeah, I worship the ground he walks on. His dedication to his work advanced the anatomical world more than anyone else in history (only recently because his works were lost for a long ass time). His inventions were beyond his time as well.

BUT! Whats irking me? His name is Leonardo NOT da Vinci. His name translates to Leonardo FROM Vinci. Vinci is a region in Florence, Italy.

This series on Discovery is focusing on his invention designs. They are going to make them and test them. So are they going to do everyone from Vinci who ever invented something, cause thats what the name of the show suggests.

Yes, I know, to most people he is da Vinci. He was to me, until I wrote a paper on him. Evidence is even found of this information on Wiki. I know you cant trust Wiki 100%, but I found it documented in books (i just dont have my source at hand right now)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonardo_da_Vinci
"Leonardo was born on April 15, 1452, "at the third hour of the night"[nb 5] in the Tuscan hill town of Vinci, in the lower valley of the Arno River in the territory of Florence.[7] He was the illegitimate son of Messer Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci, a Florentine notary, and Caterina, a peasant[6][8] who may have been a slave from the Middle East.[nb 6][9] Leonardo had no surname in the modern sense, "da Vinci" simply meaning "of Vinci": his full birth name was "Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci", meaning "Leonardo, (son) of (Mes)ser Piero from Vinci".[7]"
