Just because she wasnt flesh and blood, doesnt mean she wasnt my aunt. I received horrible news this evening that Debbie passed away last night. Debbie was my moms lifetime best friend. Seriously my mom has known her for her entire life. Thus I've never known a time with out Debbie.

I just am at such a loss of words and emotion right now (except crying, i sure as hell am doing a lot of that). I havent seen her for ages, since she moved to Arizona, but damn I remember her so much! She was such a vibrant and energetic woman. I am so upset that she is gone.

Carrie took us out to get sugar (in her case chocolate) to calm us both down. Shes really upset too, cause Debbie holds a special place in her heart too. then we went to Walmart for a tiny bit of retail therapy. new pony and lps for me, cause pony makes chibi happy (we hope), and Carrie got puzzles to help take her mind off of it. Carrie also called off of work today, cause as i said, fuck it all Debbie IS family.

I really hope my mom is not just putting up a front of "i am ok, just shocked" i hope she doesnt crash, which is very easily tempting for her. Debbie was always there for mom. and now no more. I feel so bad for mommy.

I have an "aunt" like that too. Even though not technically related, she was mom's best friend, and my sister and I always called her aunt and her children cousins (in fact it confused us as kids, lol). I'm sorry you lost someone who was special to you.

I have a friend that is like an aunt to my children. Dedrick actually prefers her over his actual aunts. I understand.
